ANNOUNCEMENTS

First Church Hadley Cares
We're starting a new program to address the rides and meals needs of the congregation, and we're in the process of recruiting a team of volunteers who want to help occasionally. To help us get organized, we're using the website Lotsa Helping HandsWe've started a group on the site called "First Church Hadley Cares". This website provides a place where volunteers can sign up to help people in our congregation who have requested specific support during a difficult time.  Whether our situations are joyous (new baby, new home) or grievous (hospitalization, loss of loved one), this website will facilitate our care for each other - bringing meals, providing rides, really whatever is needed. If you'd like to serve our church community by joining this team of volunteers, or if you have any questions or input about this program, please contact the church office or speak with Alexis at church.  I'd love to hear from you!

 Thank you!

Stewardship Moving Forward
The Stewardship Committee has been working to develop a comprehensive plan to help the church realize a stronger financial future. We are planning on ways to cast our net out wider and explore new opportunities to secure funding to continue to maintain and grow the church. We would like to hear from you, to get your opinions on your feelings about giving; why you give and what makes you feel good about making a gift to support the work of the church. A card will be included in your mid-year giving statement asking you to give us your opinion. Simply fill out the card and put it in the weekly giving plate at service or mail it in to the Church. You can choose to be anonymous or you can share your name. The Stewardship Committee also needs a few new members ~ join us in making a difference in our church’s health by helping with stewardship. You can talk to Dave Storey, Lila West, Cheryl Burke, Kara Kapinos or Reverend Sarah.

Memorial Donations
Our church members have a strong history of supporting the church both during their lives and after they have gone on before us. If you would like to continue that tradition, the Stewardship Committee would like to make that as easy as possible for you. A gift to our church is a wonderful way to celebrate a life and leave a lasting legacy in a loved one’s honor.

We have created memorial giving cards that may be used when a friend or family member has passed away. If the Church is the beneficiary of the memorial contribution designations, we can provide the funeral home with memorial cards so that family and friends can easily make a contribution. These cards may also be used when a family has chosen not to designate a charity, or if a parishioner desires to do something special in memory of that person. Cards are available in the rear of the sanctuary, or by calling Delores at the church office. The Church will send out acknowledgements to the donors. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact a member of the Stewardship Committee.

Let's Garden!
Do you like to garden?  Or would you like to learn more about how to care for perennial gardens?  Come for a morning of fellowship and fun, and let’s get to know each other better while learning about pruning, dividing, transplanting, shaping and caring for flowers.

Date: Saturday, July 20th at 10:00 at Mary Thayer’s home in Hadley. Bring gardening gloves and pruners if you have them.  Pot luck lunch to follow. Please contact the church office for more information or see Mary at church if you would like to come.
